ECAP® WOOL

PREFINISHED ROCK WOOL PANEL, FOR THERMAL INSULATION SYSTEMS

ECAP® WOOL is the prefinished rock wool board for external insulation where fire safety matters: it is non-combustible (Euroclass A1) and meets the reaction-to-fire requirements of the Italian fire-safety guidance for façade insulation.

Rock wool is also highly breathable (μ 1) and improves the sound insulation of the wall, with a thermal conductivity of λD 0.036 W/mK (0.25 BTU·in/(h·ft²·°F)). It arrives on site with the fibreglass mesh and the first coat of smoothing mortar already applied in the factory, plus punched holes for the anchors: fewer operations, shorter times and consistent quality. The system is completed with ECAP® ADP and the ECAP® finishes.

NOTE

Board 600 × 1200 mm (23 5/8 × 47 1/4 in) (0.72 m² (7.8 ft²)) with straight edges; prefinished with about 3 mm (0.118 in) of cement smoothing mortar and alkali-resistant fibreglass mesh 160 g/m² (4.7 oz/yd²) with overlaps; punched holes for anchors.
Rock wool: λD 0.036 W/mK (0.25 BTU·in/(h·ft²·°F)); Euroclass A1; μ 1; specific heat 1030 J/kgK.
Compressive stress at 10% ≥ 20 kPa (≥ 2.9 psi); tensile strength perpendicular to faces ≥ 10 kPa (≥ 1.5 psi).
