GECO CEMENT finish

UNIVERSAL CEMENT-BASED, MINERAL AND FIBRE-REINFORCED SKIM COAT

GECO CEMENT finish is a universal cement-based, mineral and fibre-reinforced skim coat (EN 998-1 GP). It gives smooth, compact finishes on almost any building surface: insulation boards in ETICS, cement-based and dehumidifying plasters, aerated and cellular concrete.

It adheres strongly to all common substrates, regularises uneven surfaces and, thanks to its thixotropic consistency, is easy to apply even overhead. Its capillary water absorption is class W0 and it is vapour-permeable; mineral fibres and controlled shrinkage give crack-free, impact-resistant surfaces.

No levelling product is needed before painting or decorating, saving a working stage on site.

Grey or white powder; maximum particle size 0.8 mm (1/32 in).
Compressive strength: > 5 MPa (> 725 psi) (CS III); dry density: 1400 ± 30 kg/m³ (87.4 ± 1.9 lb/ft³).
Adhesion on EPS: 0.16 MPa (23 psi); on terracotta: 0.50 MPa (73 psi) – failure pattern B (substrate).
Capillary absorption class: W0; water vapour diffusion resistance factor μ: 20; thermal conductivity: < 0.45 W/mK (< 3.12 BTU·in/(h·ft²·°F)).
Reaction to fire: A1 (non-combustible).
Thickness per coat: 2-3 mm (0.079 to 0.118 in), 1-3 coats; consumption: 1.3 kg/m² per mm of thickness (6.76 lb/ft² per inch of thickness); fresh density: 1600 ± 40 kg/m³ (99.9 ± 2.5 lb/ft³).
Mixing water: 5.3-5.8 L (1.4-1.5 US gal) per bag; open time: 30 minutes; application between +5 °C (41 °F) and +35 °C (95 °F).
25 kg (55 lb) bags; pallet of 60 bags; shelf life 12 months in a dry place.
