GECO ADDITIVE

GECO ADDITIVE

LIQUID ADDITIVE FOR THE CREATION OF MACROPOROUS DEHUMIDIFYING MORTARS

GECO ADDITIVE is a liquid additive for macroporous dehumidifying mortars. Added to the mixing water of a normal cement, cement-lime or lime mortar, it creates a porous structure that increases the air flow in the plaster and speeds up the evaporation of the moisture contained in the wall.

It lets you make dehumidifying and renovating plasters on site with your usual sand and binders: the mortar becomes more breathable (μ 10.5, against μ 15/35 of traditional mortars at 1600-2000 kg/m³ (99.9-125 lb/ft³)) and more insulating. Non-toxic and non-corrosive, it is dosed simply: one 1 kg (2.2 lb) bottle per mix.

NOTE
  • Non-toxic and non-corrosive
  • For any mortar: cement, cement-lime, lime

  • Mortar with GECO ADDITIVE: water vapour diffusion resistance μ 10.5 (traditional mortars 1600-2000 kg/m³ (99.9-125 lb/ft³): μ 15/35, UNI EN 1745).
  • Thermal conductivity λ10,dry,mat of the mortar: 0.53 W/mK (3.67 BTU·in/(h·ft²·°F)) (UNI EN 1745).
  • Dosage: 1 kg (2.2 lb) (1 bottle) in 25-30 L (6.6-7.9 US gal) of water + approx. 150 L (39.6 US gal) of sand + 50 kg (110 lb) of binder (e.g. 25 kg (55 lb) cement + 25 kg (55 lb) lime); mix for approx. 10 minutes.
  • Minimum plaster thickness: 2 cm (13/16 in) on walls up to 25 cm (9 7/8 in), 3.5 cm (1 3/8 in) on walls up to 40 cm (15 3/4 in).
  • Can be painted after 15-20 days with lime-based paints or mineral finishes.
  • Do not apply below +5 °C (41 °F).
  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) bottles; box of 10 bottles; pallet of 10 boxes.
