SMARTBLOCK® B.20.300

ULTRA-LIGHT BLOCK FOR MASONRY

SMARTBLOCK® B.20.300 is a solid ultra-light block (300 kg/m³ (18.7 lb/ft³)) made of cement and POLITERM® BLU / BLU FEIN virgin EPS beads coated with the E.I.A. additive. It weighs only 6 kg (13 lb), is cut with a simple saw and is laid with MALTA BLOCK 600 thermal mortar: walls go up quickly, with little waste and no thermal bridges at the joints.

At 20 cm (7 7/8 in) thick it builds single-layer insulating infill walls, with no additional insulation layer: the plastered wall reaches U 0.358 W/m²K (0.063 BTU/(h·ft²·°F)), a phase shift of 8.8 h and a calculated sound insulation of Rw 44.6 dB. Reaction to fire A2-s1,d0, CE marked to EN 771-3.

Thermal resistance of the block: 2.500 m²K/W (14.2 h·ft²·°F/BTU); equivalent thermal conductivity 0.08 W/mK (0.55 BTU·in/(h·ft²·°F)).
Plastered wall (15 mm (0.591 in) plaster per side): U 0.358 W/m²K (0.063 BTU/(h·ft²·°F)); R 2.793 m²K/W (15.9 h·ft²·°F/BTU); periodic transmittance Yie 0.170 W/m²K (0.03 BTU/(h·ft²·°F)); phase shift 8.8 h; attenuation factor 0.474.
Calculated sound insulation: Rw 44.6 dB.
Reaction to fire: Euroclass A2-s1,d0 (EN 13501-1); μ 12; specific heat 0.33 kcal/kgK.
Wall: 10 blocks/m²; mass 60 kg/m² (12 lb/ft²) (excluding plaster).
Pallet: 60 blocks, approx. 364 kg (802 lb), 1030 × 1030 × 1260 mm (40 1/2 × 40 1/2 × 50 in).
